The Old House Network has two main opportunities for volunteering each year, The Great Unveiling and The Old House EXPO.

The Great Unveiling 2010!

How about a little creative demolition? Have you ever wondered what might be under the replacement siding on an old house? Could there be fancy fish scales under the vinyl? On May 22 2010 the Old House Network will strip the added siding off a house! The Old House Network will provided tools, equipment and food (if you like doughnuts and coffee and pizza).

We can use up to 25 volunteers for each Great Unveiling. Call the Old House Network at 269-349-2022 and leave a message for Pat or Sharon to volunteer for the next one.

Old House EXPO January 22nd 2011

The Old House EXPO is a one day event with three tracks of programming. We hold the EXPO at the Kalamazoo Fairground every January. We have sessions for serious preservationists, old house owners and those who just love old houses. There is a vendors hall, food, door prizes and a coloring contest for the kids.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR EXPO - We need help to make the Expo happen each year - people to sell tickets, run errands, put up signs and help out speakers. Volunteers that complete a three- hour shift receive a free registration and our gratitude. All volunteers need to sign up in advance with Sharon - 269-349-2022 or email at pastmast@att.net.

We need about two dozen volunteers altogether for:
-- Set up on Friday night - the vendors start arriving at 6:00pm to set up.
And this is when we put up our signs and registration tables. If you can show up at 5:30 at the Fairgrounds/Expo Center we can use your help - usually everything is done in under three hours. All volunteers need to sign up in advance with Sharon - 269-349-2022 or email at pastmast@att.net.

-- During the Show in Saturday - there are three shifts:

8:30-11:30
11:30-2:30
2:30-5:30

-- Help with breakdown (striking the set!!) 5:00-7:00 - honestly, every year we are done by 6-6:30 - in 2009 we were out the door and the halls were clear by 6:00pm.
