The GREAT UNVEILING

The GREAT UNVEILING on SATURDAY MAY 30 was a great success. Thank you to our hostess for providing a great site. The repairs are underway to the wood siding. Pictures will be posted when the exterior work is complete!

MASONRY AND MORTAR

- on a house built before the Civil War - Saturday July 25th - what a great day we had. The class was informative and the work in the basement gave everyone a great hands on experience.

WINDOWS REHAB

- Saturday August 29 - basics - putty, ropes and more!! We only have one opening left. Call soon!

CONDITION ASSESSMENT

- date to be announced - we will be looking at the Sexton's Lodge (The stone house on West Main in Kalamazoo in front of Mountain Home cemetery near Henderson Castle.) More on that later. Up to 6 students

Old House EXPO 2010

- Next Years EXPO - will be Saturday January 23rd and BOB YAPP WILL BE BACK. BOB HOSTED A SHOW CALLED "ABOUT YOUR HOUSE" ON PBS IN THE EARLY 1990S AND HE HAS RESTORED OVER 150 HOUSES. He is a dynamic speaker and loves to share his "how to" knowledge. We have had many requests to bring Bob back since he was our first key note speaker at the first EXPO. We are thrilled he will be celebrating our fifth anniversary with us.

The 2009 Masonry Workshop

The 2009 Masonry Workshop was a great event. We learned about mortor, lime, stone and history. Our workshop leader Blair Bates led discussion on the lovely porch during the morning. He led us down into the basement to work on the foundation in the afternoon. Thank you to our hosts for providing the site and a wonderful lunch!
